ग़ज़ब किया तिरे वअ'दे पे ए'तिबार किया

The verses

1. ग़ज़ब किया तिरे वअ'दे पे ए'तिबार किया तमाम रात क़यामत का इंतिज़ार किया

   Meaning: What sheer folly to have trusted in your sworn word; all night long, I kept vigil for the Day of Reckoning.

2. ग़ज़ब थी कसरत-ए-महफ़िल कि मैं ने धोके में हज़ार बार रक़ीबों को हम-कनार किया

   Meaning: So overwhelming was the gathering's crowd that in delusion, a thousand times did I take my rivals into my embrace.

3. वो बात कर जो कभी आसमाँ से हो न सके सितम किया तो बड़ा तू ने इफ़्तिख़ार किया

   Meaning: Accomplish that which the heavens themselves could never do; if cruelty is all you wrought, why take such pride in you?

4. बनेगा मेहर-ए-क़यामत भी एक ख़ाल-ए-सियाह जो चेहरा 'दाग़'-ए-सियह-रू ने आश्कार किया

   Meaning: Even the blazing sun of Doomsday would turn into a mere black mole, upon the dazzling face revealed by this dark, disgraced scar.
