હમારા રાહ

The verses

1. કટાયેલું અને બૂઠું ઘસીને તીક્ષણ તેં કીધું; કર્યું પાછું હતું તેવું, અરે! દિલબર હૃદય મારું!

   Meaning: My rusted and blunt heart, you sharpened with your grind;But made it back as it was, alas, my love, you'll find!

2. હમે મગરૂર મસ્તાના, બિયાંબામાં રઝળનારા! ખરા મહબૂબ સિંહો ત્યાં! હમારા રાહ છે ન્યારા!

   Meaning: We are proud and wild, wandering in the desolate expanse!True beloved lions are there! Our path is truly peerless!

3. હવાઈ મહેલના વાસી હમે એકાન્તદુઃખવાદી! હમોને શોખ મરવાનો! હમારો રાહ છે ન્યારો!

   Meaning: We, dwellers of airy palaces, are solitary sorrow's advocates! A desire for death we hold! Our path is truly unique!

4. ખુવારીમાં જ મસ્તી છે! તમે ના સ્વાદ ચાખ્યો એ! હમોને તો જગત ખારું થઈ ચૂક્યું! થઈ ચૂક્યું!

   Meaning: In ruin itself is ecstasy! That taste you haven't known!For us, the world has turned so sour! It's stale, it's bitter grown!
