The verses

1. ફક્ત એ કારણે દિલમાં વ્યથા આખી ઉંમર લાગી, કે મારી બદનસીબીથી મને આશા અમર લાગી.

   Meaning: Only for that reason, sorrow in my heart felt lifelong,That from my ill-fortune, I found hope eternally strong.

2. હવે એવું કહીને મારું દુઃખ શાને વધારો છો, કે આખી જિંદગી ફીકી મને તારા વગર લાગી.

   Meaning: Why do you now, by speaking thus, my sorrow amplify,That this whole life without you, felt tasteless to my eye.

3. બધા સુખદ અને દુઃખદ પ્રસંગોને પચાવ્યા છે, પછી આ આખી દુનિયા મારું દિલ લાગી, જીગર લાગી.

   Meaning: All sweet and bitter moments, I have embraced,Then this entire world, my heart and soul, it interlaced.

4. અચલ ઇનકાર છે એનો ‘મરીઝ’ એમાં નવું શું છે? મને પણ માગણી મારી અડગ લાગી, અફર લાગી

   Meaning: His denial is firm, Mariz, what's new in that? My own plea also seemed unyielding, irreversible to me.
