लुत्फ़ वो इश्क़ में पाए हैं कि जी जानता है

लुत्फ़ वो इश्क़ में पाए हैं कि जी जानता है
रंज भी ऐसे उठाए हैं कि जी जानता है
Such pleasures have I tasted in love, only my heart knows; such sorrows too have I endured, only my heart knows.
I have experienced such joys in love that only my heart truly knows, and I have endured such sorrows that only my heart knows.

जो ज़माने के सितम हैं वो ज़माना जाने
तू ने दिल इतने सताए हैं कि जी जानता है
The world may know the cruelties the world imparts, but only my soul knows how you have tormented hearts.
Whatever the cruelties of the world may be, the world knows them; but you have tormented hearts so much that only my soul knows the pain.

तुम नहीं जानते अब तक ये तुम्हारे अंदाज़
वो मिरे दिल में समाए हैं कि जी जानता है
You still do not know how these alluring ways of yours / Have nestled so deep in my heart that only my soul knows.
You still do not know how deeply these charming ways of yours have settled into my heart, such that only my soul truly knows it.

इन्हीं क़दमों ने तुम्हारे इन्हीं क़दमों की क़सम
ख़ाक में इतने मिलाए हैं कि जी जानता है
I swear by these very feet of yours, by these very feet I swear: so many have been reduced to dust, only my heart is aware.
I swear by these very feet of yours, they have reduced so many lovers to dust that only my heart truly knows.

दोस्ती में तिरी दर-पर्दा हमारे दुश्मन
इस क़दर अपने पराए हैं कि जी जानता है
Behind the veil of your friendship lurk our foes; so deeply have our own turned stranger that only my heart knows.
Behind the veil of your friendship, our enemies are concealed; our own people have turned into strangers to such a degree that only my heart truly knows.
