The verses

1. અમે જોગી બધા વરવા શ્મશાનો ઢૂંઢનારાઓ; તહીંનાં ભૂતને ગાઈ જગાવી ખેલનારાઓ.

   Meaning: We are ascetics all, who wander dreadful cremation grounds;And there, with song, awaken and play with the spirits found.

2. ગરઝ જો ઈશ્કબાજીની, અમોને પૂછતા આવો, બધાં ખાલી ફિતૂરથી તો સદા એ નાસનારાઓ.

   Meaning: If you desire the art of love's true play,Come, seek from us, and learn the proper way.For all who harbor empty, vain deceit,From such deep passion, they will always beat retreat.

3. બની ઉસ્તાદ આવો તો થશો આંહી તમે ચેલા, મગર મુરશિદ કરો તો તો હમે ચેલા થનારાઓ.

   Meaning: If you come as a master, here a disciple you'll be, But if you make us a guide, disciples we then shall be.

4. અમારાં આંસુથી આંસુ મિલાવો, આપશું ચાવી; પછી ખંજર ભલે દેતાં, નહીં ગણકારનારાઓ.

   Meaning: Join your tears with ours, and we shall share the key;Then, though you offer daggers, we will pay no heed.
