ले चला जान मिरी रूठ के जाना तेरा

Dagh Dehlvi· Ghazal· 15 shers· radif: तेरा

This ghazal captures the profound anguish of separation caused by the beloved's resentful departure, lamenting that such a fleeting and painful encounter is worse than not meeting at all. It reflects a tender mix of heartbreak, longing, and the lover's earnest desire to guard the secrecy of their love from the world.

Why grieve your union with the rival when no bond between us lies? By God, it only makes me laugh, this attempt to bring tears to my eyes.
When there is no relationship left between us, why should I grieve your union with my rival? By God, your attempt to make me cry only makes me laugh.
