सजन टुक नाज़ सूँ मुझ पास आ आहिस्ता आहिस्ता

ग़रज़ गोयाँ की बाताँ कूँ न ला ख़ातिर मनीं हरगिज़
सजन इस बात कूँ ख़ातिर में ला आहिस्ता आहिस्ता
Never take to heart the idle talk of gossipers; / But let this truth, beloved, steal gently into your heart.
Never pay any heed to the words of selfish people; instead, O beloved, let this advice of mine settle gently into your heart.

हर इक की बात सुनने पर तवज्जोह मत कर ऐ ज़ालिम
रक़ीबाँ उस सीं होवेंगे जुदा आहिस्ता आहिस्ता
Pay no heed to what every tongue says, O cruel love; the rivals will drift away and part from you, slowly, slowly.
O cruel beloved, do not pay attention to what everyone says; the rivals will gradually separate from you on their own.

मबादा मोहतसिब बदमस्त सुन कर तान में आवे
तम्बूरा आह का ऐ दिल बजा आहिस्ता आहिस्ता
Lest the moral censor, enchanted by the tune, be stirred into wild frenzy; pluck the lute of sighs, O heart, ever so softly.
O heart, play the lute of your sighs very softly, lest the moral censor hear the melody and become wildly intoxicated.

'वली' हरगिज़ अपस के दिल कूँ सीने में न रख ग़म-गीं
कि बर लावेगा मतलब कूँ ख़ुदा आहिस्ता आहिस्ता
O Wali, never keep your heart in sorrow locked within your breast, / For slowly, slowly God will grant your longing and request.
O Wali, do not keep your heart sorrowful inside your chest at all, for God will gradually fulfill your desire.
