Ghazal
This ghazal embodies an indomitable spirit of self-worth, defiance, and existential pride against the trials of the world. It asserts that human beings define the times rather than being subjugated by them, while viewing life's sorrows not as futile suffering, but as a grace that ennobles the soul.

The world does not possess the might to wipe our name away; the world itself exists through us, not we beneath its sway.
The world does not possess the power to destroy us; the world itself exists because of us, we do not exist because of the world.

Sorrow is not without its purpose, nor is grief in vain; should God bestow the grace to bear it, this blessing too is no small gain.
Suffering and grief are neither purposeless nor in vain; if God grants the grace and strength to endure them, then this pain is also no small blessing.
3
No grievance against the cruel dwells upon my tongue; that they awakened me is no small kindness done.
I have no complaint on my tongue against the oppressors; it is no small favor that they awakened me.
4
Grant this throng of grief, O Lord, an even vaster realm; let alone my garment's hem, even my eyes are not yet wet.
O Lord, grant even greater expanse to this multitude of grief; let alone soaking my garment, even my eyes are not yet moist.
5
My complaint is merely playful teasing, yet in truth, even your cruelty is no less than your grace.
My complaint is merely playful teasing, because in reality, your cruelty is no less than your grace or kindness.
6
Now love's restless quest has reached that desolate domain, where casts no sheltering shade, and no footprints remain.
The quest of love has now reached a stage where there is neither any shade nor any footprint to be found.
7
Why do I find delight in the world's relentless cruelty, when even your own grace is not complicit in this torment?
Why do I find pleasure in the cruelties of the world, when your grace itself is not a partner in this torment?
8
Why do your eyes shed tears over Jigar's demise? / A tragedy it may be, yet not of such grave weight.
Why are your eyes shedding tears over the death of Jigar? It may be a tragedy, but it is not so important.
