Ghazal
This ghazal laments the fading of mutual warmth and the pervasive bitterness that has strained relationships. Despite enduring loyalty and devotion, the poet expresses grief and bewilderment over the beloved's cold indifference and changed disposition.

Where now is that mutual joy of old, when love has grown so scarce and slight? What strange wind blows, O God, that every soul is tossed in troubled plight?
Now, mutual affection and joy are no longer there, and love has decreased greatly. O God, what strange wind has blown that everyone's temperament is filled with irritation and unrest?

Has my fidelity begun to waver, or does my submission fall short somehow? / Why have your eyes turned away from me, why this displeasure upon your brow?
Is there any wavering in my faithfulness or any lack in my obedience, that your eyes have turned away from me and there is such anger in your temperament?

By the grace of God, the commerce of love and beauty still thrives as of old: she is never remiss in practicing cruelty, nor does my heart's blood ever run cold.
By God's grace, the affair of beauty and love continues to flourish as before; neither is the beloved remiss in inflicting cruelty, nor is there any shortage of heart's blood here.

Such strange displays confound all sense, even fancy's footsteps stall; such wondrous sights stir boundless awe, the gaze stays frozen where it fell.
The displays are so baffling that even imagination hesitates to step forward, and the sights are so astonishing that the gaze remains frozen wherever it fell.
5
No mutual reverence remains, no love endures within the heart; It is only in formal text where 'Dear Sir' or 'Esteemed Sir' plays its part.
There is no mutual respect or love left in hearts anymore; formal titles like 'Dear Sir' or 'Respected Sir' exist solely in written words.

Where are the Muslims, where are the Hindus? All ancient rites are cast away; all faiths lie shattered in disarray, leaving neither Gyarahvi nor Ashtami's sacred day.
Neither true Muslims nor Hindus remain, as everyone has abandoned their ancient traditions. People's beliefs are scattered in disarray, and neither Gyarahwin nor Ashtami is observed anymore.

My gaze is turned elsewhere, though the world change its hues a thousand times; let the preacher spin a thousand tales, what is etched in my heart remains.
My focus is turned elsewhere, no matter if the world changes its colors a thousand times; let the preacher say whatever he wants, what has firmly settled in my heart remains unshaken.

Though I may be a respected libertine, ask not the pious Sheikh of this; for in his sight, in this day and age, all the world is bound for hell.
Although I am a respected libertine, do not ask the pious Sheikh about this, because in his eyes, the entire world today is condemned to hell.
