Neither has beauty understood nor has love truly known; the entire world lies trampled beneath the feet of humble dust-dwellers like us.

This is the beginning of love where there is neither coming nor going; tears hold rule and it is an era of sighs.

A trace of tears rests in their eyes as silently they sit; within those tender glances dwells a fragile, delicate tale.
There is a slight moisture in their eyes and they sit quietly, while within their delicate gaze lies a tender story.
11
With pain in heart I lament, while hand on heart they stand amazed; O tyrant Love, does this entire age belong solely to your sway?
I am weeping with pain in my heart while they stand in astonishment with a hand on their heart; O cruel love, does this entire era belong only to you?

O love whose craft is madness, yes, passion wild and deep—today, through joyous laughter, I shall make a tormentor weep.
O love whose profession is madness, today I must make a cruel tormentor weep by laughing continuously.
14
Grant just a little respite, O banquet-hall of life; we have arrived but for a fleeting breath—to weep, and to bring others to tears.
